Santa Ana, Costa Rica – The Hemp and Cannabis Council of Costa Rica announced today the appointment of Kathleen May to the board of directors. “I am deeply honored by the invitation to take a seat as a board member of the Hemp & Cannabis Council of Costa Rica HCANN-CR). This unique opportunity to contribute and shape cannabis legislation in Costa Rica is not only exciting, but it aligns with my motivation and dedication to promoting best practices and quality standards to ensure consumer health and safety in the cannabis industry globally. I am grateful and humbled that Kenda Hansen and Roy Thompson have entrusted me to take on this responsibility and represent the goals and mission of HCANN. I look forward to putting in the work to position Costa Rica as a global industry leader.”  said Kathleen May. 

Kathleen has more than 20 years of experience working with Fortune 500 companies as a quality professional in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and cannabis industries. She has worked in every aspect of quality management systems and is a sought-after consultant in regulatory and scientific standards. Kathleen is the Chair of ASTM International Cannabis Standards Committee, D37, focused on creating quality and safety standards and guidance materials for cannabis products and processes. Vice-Chairman of the board Kenda Hansen shared, “We are thrilled to have somebody on the board with such an impressive history of standards and regulation in both the cannabis and the pharma space. Kathleen’s wealth of knowledge will be a huge asset as we move forward with national regulations.”
