Gamified Virtual Reality Simulation Training For Manufacturing Workers Released

The company’s new release prepares workers for sudden high-stress events, such as an injury, fire, or mechanical breakdown on the manufacturing floor. By properly training employees, production interruption during emergency events can be largely mitigated.

The newly-released VR program is designed to be interesting and interactive, and it rewards employee engagement. It can also be customized to ensure that the industrial and mechanical settings are appropriate to individual workplaces.

According to the Institute of Work-Learning Research, safety training that relies primarily on written materials is ineffective: after 6 months, employees forget nearly 90% of the information they read. When visual learning such as video is used, employees can remember nearly half the information after 6 months instead. Interactive and gamified learning further increases employee engagement and knowledge retention.

With Sequel MV’s VR training program, employees learn through interactive visuals, ensuring that the training information is retained and applied. New employees can build good PPE habits, learn the locations of fire exits and extinguishers, proper forklift right-of-way, and other common hazards.

The training is also useful for disaster situation training, such as if a worker’s hand or hair is caught in a machine. With VR training, incident response is contextualized in the physical location of the workplace, and workers can react to the training simulation in real time.

Gamification of the learning process also increases employee learning responsiveness by adding elements of competition, narrative, time pressure, performance statistics, level progression, and objective completion.
